Biography

Saint Adeodato of Naples, also known as Saint Deusdedit, was the 33rd bishop of Naples, Italy. He served as the bishop from 653 to 671. Born in the 7th century, little is known about his early life and background. However, his contributions and actions as bishop have left a lasting impact on the Catholic Church. One of the notable achievements of Saint Adeodato was the construction of the oratory of Saint Restituta of Carthage in Naples. This oratory was dedicated to the veneration of the relics of Saint Restituta, a martyr from Carthage. Adeodato recognized the importance of preserving and honoring the relics of this saint and took the initiative to establish a place of worship for her. Furthermore, Saint Adeodato played a significant role in the burial of Saint Patrizia of Naples.
