Biography

Saint Amor of Amorbach, also known as Amator or Amour, was an 8th-century missionary and saint in Germany. Little is known about his early life, but it is believed that he was born in the region of Franconia, which is in modern-day Germany. Saint Amor is most famous for his close association with Saint Pirmin, another renowned missionary of the time. Together, they worked tirelessly to spread Christianity throughout the region. They traveled together, preaching the Gospel, converting the pagans, and establishing several monastic communities. One of the notable achievements of Saint Amor was the founding of the monastery of Amorbach. Located in the town of Amorbach in Franconia, the monastery became a significant center of religious and cultural influence during that time.
