Saint Benigno of Malcesine, also known as Bénigne or Benignus, was an Augustinian hermit who lived in the Malcesine area on the shores of Lake Garda near Verona, Italy. He lived around the 9th century, although the exact dates of his birth and death are not known. Despite limited information available about his life, Saint Benigno is celebrated and venerated for his deep spirituality, piety, and wisdom. Saint Benigno was renowned for his profound prayer life and his ability to guide others in their spiritual journey.
