Biography

Saint Bobo of Provence, also known as Bobo of Voghera, Bobo the Soldier, Beuvon of Provence, and Bovo of Provence, was a remarkable figure in Catholic history. Born in Provence, France, he lived during a time of great turmoil, particularly due to the threat of Saracen invasions. Bobo began his life as a soldier, dedicating himself to the defense of his homeland against these invading forces. He fought bravely but eventually grew disillusioned with the violence and bloodshed that accompanied his profession. Deeply moved by a desire for a more peaceful and virtuous life, he decided to retire from the military and embrace a life of penance and solitude.
