Saint Donatus of Besancon, also known as Donato, was a Benedictine monk and Bishop of Besancon in France during the 7th century. He was a notable monastic reformer and founded the Saint Paul Abbey at Besancon. Saint Donatus is revered for his spirituality, leadership, and his contributions to the monastic tradition through the writing of the Rule for Virgins.
