While not much is known about his early life, it is believed that he was born in the 7th century. Saint Edfrid is primarily known for his evangelization efforts in Mercia, a kingdom located in central England. His dedication to spreading the Christian faith led him to leave his native Northumbria and travel to Mercia, where his teachings and example of piety soon gained him a reputation as a holy and righteous man. He tirelessly preached the Gospel, converting many people to Christianity and leading them towards a life of faith and devotion.
