Biography

Saint Eingan of Llanengan, also known as Saint Einion or Saint Einio in Welsh, was a prince of Cumberland in the sixth century. Born into a noble British lineage, Eingan decided to abandon his worldly position and embrace a life of solitude and devotion as a hermit. He left his princely life behind and settled at Llanengan, near Bangor in Wales.
