Biography

Saint Firmus, also known as Firmus of Bordeaux, was a courageous martyr who faced persecution during the reign of Emperor Maximian Herculeus. Unfortunately, not much is known about his early life or background. Saint Firmus was one of the countless Christians who suffered at the hands of Emperor Maximian Herculeus, who launched a brutal campaign against Christians in the 3rd century. Firmus remained steadfast in his faith and refused to renounce his beliefs despite the risk to his own life. His commitment to Christianity eventually led to his arrest and subsequent torture. He was scourged, a brutal punishment that involved being whipped with a variety of instruments such as leather thongs with shards of bone or metal attached to them.
