Biography
Saint Flavianus of Avellino, a devoted deacon of the early Church, is venerated for his steadfast witness to the Christian faith. Born in Antioch, Turkey, he served faithfully under Saint Modestinus of Avellina, a bishop whose ministry extended to the region of Avellino. During the brutal persecutions of Emperor Diocletian (c. 303-313 AD), Flavianus was imprisoned for his Christian convictions. Escaping the initial persecution, he journeyed to Italy, seeking refuge for the Church. However, his faith remained unshaken, and he was again imprisoned under the reign of Emperor Maximian.
