Biography
Saint Francis Serrano, a Dominican priest and missionary, dedicated his life to spreading the Catholic faith in Fujian, China. Collaborating closely with the renowned Saint John Alcober, he labored tirelessly among the local population, fostering the Church's growth amidst significant challenges. In 1746, his unwavering commitment led to his imprisonment alongside fellow missionary Saint Pere Sans Jorda, solely for the peaceful exercise of their religious vocation and evangelization efforts. While enduring confinement, Serrano received a profound spiritual honor: he was chosen as the Titular Bishop of Tipasa, a recognition of his steadfast faith and leadership even within the walls of his prison. This appointment, made during his captivity, underscored the Church's acknowledgment of his spiritual authority and sacrifice. Saint Francis
