Ioannes Zhang Tianshen was a convert to Catholicism and became a catechist, actively promoting the teachings of the Church and helping to spread the faith in his local community. He was devoted to sharing the Gospel and assisting the missionaries who were working in the area. During the Qing Dynasty, when the Catholic Church faced persecution in China, Ioannes Zhang Tianshen bravely continued his apostolic work, despite the dangers and risks involved.
