Saint Martin of Arades, also known as Martin of Corbie, was a renowned Catholic monk, priest, and confessor who lived during the 8th century. Born in France, he dedicated his life to serving God and his fellow believers, leaving a lasting impact on the Church and society. Little is known about Saint Martin's early life and upbringing. However, it is believed that he joined Corbie Abbey, a prominent center of monasticism in France, as a young man. Martin embraced the monastic lifestyle wholeheartedly, immersing himself in prayer, study, and the rigorous disciplines of the order. As Martin's spiritual fervor and knowledge became evident, he was ordained as a priest and soon gained recognition for his devoutness and wisdom. His spiritual guidance drew the attention of Charles Martel, the powerful ruler of the Franks, who appointed Martin as his court chaplain and confessor.
