Saint Nicetas The Goth, venerated as a martyr, was a convert to Christianity within the Gothic community of the fourth century. Born into the Gothic people, he was brought to the faith through the dedicated missionary and translator, Bishop Ulphilas, who labored among the Goths to spread the Gospel. Nicetas embraced his new faith with profound conviction, living as a witness to Christ amidst his people. His steadfast adherence to Christianity, however, drew the ire of King Athanaric, a ruler who fiercely persecuted Christians within his realm.
