Saint Pudentiana of Rome was the daughter of Saint Claudia of Rome and the senator Pudens, and the sister of Saint Praxedes.
Biography
Saint Pudentiana of Rome was the daughter of Saint Claudia of Rome and the senator Pudens, and the sister of Saint Praxedes. She gave all her property to the poor and was persecuted for giving Christian burial to martyrs whose bodies had been left unburied. She is honoured as a virgin and martyr and died about 160.
The church of Saint Pudentiana in Rome, probably the oldest in the city, is held to stand on the site of her home. Her relics are in the Roman churches of Saints Pudentiana and Praxedes.
