Biography

Saint Telga of Denbighshire, also known as Tegla or Thecla, is a revered figure in the Catholic Church. She is particularly associated with the church and healing well in Ciwyd, Wales, although very little information about her life has survived. Telga is known to have lived during a time when Christianity was only beginning to spread in Wales. She was believed to have been a devout Christian who dedicated her life to serving God and helping others. As a result, she was recognized as the patron of the church and healing well in Ciwyd. These places became important pilgrimage sites, where people sought her intercession and miraculous healing. Telga's representation is not widely known or documented. However, it is probable that she is depicted in traditional religious iconography, possibly wearing religious garments or holding symbols associated with her life or ministry.
