Willeic was strongly influenced by the teachings of Saint Swithbert, a renowned Christian missionary and scholar. Under his guidance, Willeic developed a deep love for learning and a strong commitment to the monastic way of life. After spending several years as a spiritual student, Willeic was appointed as the prior of the abbey of Kaiserwerth, located in present-day Germany. As abbot, Willeic worked diligently to strengthen the spiritual life of the abbey and its community. He instilled a sense of discipline and obedience among the monks and encouraged constant prayer, study, and work. Through his guidance, the abbey became a center of scholarship, attracting many aspiring monks and scholars seeking to deepen their understanding of the faith. Willeic's reputation as a wise and compassionate spiritual leader grew, and he gained the respect and admiration of many. He was known for his humility and for being approachable to all, regardless of their social status.
