Unfortunately, there is very limited information available about Theodotus and his companions. All we know about them is their names and the fact that they were imprisoned, tortured, and martyred together during the persecutions of Trajan, a Roman emperor who ruled from 98 to 117 AD. The exact details of their imprisonment and torture are not recorded, nor do we have any information about their backgrounds, occupations, or where they lived. During their imprisonment, it is believed that they were visited and ministered to by a saint named Hyacinth. Saint Hyacinth likely provided them with spiritual guidance, comfort, and support during their difficult ordeal. On July 3rd, it is commemorated as the feast day of Theodotus and his companions in the Roman Catholic Church, but the specific reasons for their patronages are unknown.
