Biography
Blessed Giorgio Porta, also known as Giorgio Portas, was a distinguished Mercedarian monk who served as the Commander of the San Lazzaro convent in Zaragoza, Spain during the 15th century. Renowned for his unwavering devotion to the Catholic faith and his selfless acts of charity, Blessed Giorgio Porta dedicated his life to the liberation of Christians who had been enslaved by Muslims in Granada, Spain, as well as in the city of Algiers in North Africa.
