Biography
Blessed William Exmew, a devoted Carthusian monk and classical scholar, dedicated his life to faith and monastic service. Born in England, he distinguished himself as a noted classical scholar during his studies at Christ’s College, Cambridge. He entered the Carthusian Order, joining the London Charterhouse, where he rose to significant positions of responsibility. Serving as Vicar of the house under Blessed John Houghton and later as its Procurator in 1534, he worked closely with fellow Carthusian Blessed Humphrey Middlemore.
