Saint Britta, also known as Bridget, Brigid, Brigida, Brigitta, Brigitte, or Britte, was a fourth-century nun and martyr. Unfortunately, much of her story was lost over time, but her relics were eventually discovered by Saint Euphronius. While the specific details of Saint Britta's life remain uncertain, it is believed that she lived and served as a nun during the Christian persecution under the Roman Emperor Diocletian. Like many other Christians at the time, Britta courageously stood firm in her faith despite great opposition. Saint Britta's veneration as a saint indicates that she passed away as a martyr for her Christian beliefs. The circumstances surrounding her martyrdom, however, are not known. It is likely that she faced persecution, possibly alongside other faithful Christians, including Saint Maura, as they both share the same feast day.
