Biography

Saint Tibba of Castor was a Benedictine nun at Dormancaster Abbey in Northamptonshire, England. She was related to Saint Kyneswide and Saint Kyneburga, two prominent figures in the early Christian church. Little is known about the early life of Saint Tibba, but her devotion to her faith and her desire to serve God led her to pursue a life of religious dedication. She joined Dormancaster Abbey, a renowned Benedictine abbey known for its commitment to prayer, contemplation, and community. As a Benedictine nun, Saint Tibba immersed herself in a life of piety, prayer, and work. She embraced the Rule of Saint Benedict, which called for a balanced life of prayer, manual labor, and study. Saint Tibba faithfully followed this rule and contributed to the spiritual and material growth of the abbey and its community.
