Saint Victor of Carthage, also known as Victor of Africa, was a courageous martyr who lived during the third century in North Africa. Little is known about his early life and background, but his unwavering faith and commitment to Christ made him a significant figure in Catholic history. Saint Victor was a member of the Christian community of Carthage, a city in modern-day Tunisia. During this time, the Christian faith faced persecution under the Roman Empire, and believers were often subjected to intense scrutiny and cruelty. Despite the risks, Victor and his fellow Christians continued to practice their faith and spread the message of love and salvation brought by Jesus Christ. In the year 258, during the reign of Emperor Valerian, the persecution against Christians reached its peak.
Victor was arrested for refusing to renounce his faith and worship the Roman gods. He was brought before the local authorities and subjected to various forms of torture and interrogation, all aimed at breaking his resolve.
