Blessed Antonio of Valladolid, also known simply as Antonio of Valladolid, was a highly esteemed Mercedarian friar and a prominent figure in the Catholic Church during the late 15th and early 16th centuries. Born date is unknown, but he lived until 1514, passing away due to natural causes.
Antonio's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to the study of the Bible and his dedication to the Mercedarian Order. As a friar, he delved deep into the scriptures, becoming a renowned Bible scholar and sharing his profound knowledge with others. This earned him great respect within the religious community and allowed him to serve as an advisor to Spanish kings.
One of Antonio's major accomplishments was his instrumental role in sending the first Mercedarian missionaries to the Americas. After obtaining permission from Pope Alexander VI in 1493, he organized and facilitated the journey of these
