Blessed Eufrasio of the Child Jesus, also known as Eufrasio Barredo Fernández, was a Discalced Carmelite priest who met a tragic end during the religious persecutions of the Spanish Civil War. He was born on 8 February 1897 in Cancienes, Asturias, Spain, to a devout Catholic family.

From a young age, Eufrasio Barredo Fernández felt a deep calling to dedicate his life to serving God. He entered the Discalced Carmelite Order and was ordained a priest.
