Manuel Gómez Contioso grew up in a devout Catholic family, which instilled in him a strong sense of piety and love for God. Recognizing his calling to the priesthood, he joined the Salesian order, founded by Saint John Bosco, whose charism focused on the education and spiritual guidance of young people.
After completing his theological studies, Manuel Gómez Contioso was ordained as a Catholic priest. He wholeheartedly embraced his role as a pastor and educator, dedicating himself to the spiritual formation and well-being of the children and youth under his care.

Alongside his fellow Salesians and other religious personnel, he faced persecution and ultimately lost his life.
