They became victims of religious persecution during the invasion of Syracuse by the Saracens, who were Muslim Arab forces. These faithful Christians were forcibly deported from their homeland and transported to North Africa, where they endured severe tortures and eventually met their deaths for their unwavering faith. Feast days dedicated to honoring their memory are celebrated on September 23rd each year. Though the specific identities of all those martyred in this group are not known, the names that have been preserved are Andrew, Antony, John, and Peter.
